Ticket Sale Dates: Festival Contributors at the $500 level or above may begin ordering tickets for the 2023 Season on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Contributors at the $100 to $499 level will be eligible to purchase tickets on Tuesday, November 15th and general ticket sales will commence just before Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 22. Sounds on Centre Amelia Island Music Concerts

“Sounds On Centre” has announced the schedule for this free community concert series held in downtown Fernandina Beach the first Friday evening each month starting in April 2022 (continuing through October 2022). All evening concerts are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

“Sounds on Centre” kicks off the 2022 concert season with the band “Smokestack,” featuring blues and Southern rock.

Six bands will perform during Fernandina’s Sounds on Centre 2022 season. Concert dates and musical entertainment listed below:

First Friday in April — Smokestack 4/1/2022

First Friday in May — Island Vibes 5/6/2022

First Friday in June — Amelia Blues Project 6/3/2022

First Friday in July — None scheduled

First Friday in August — Str8-Up 8/5/2022

First Friday in September — Decades Band 9/2/2022

First Friday in October — Soundwavz 10/7/2022

During these events, downtown Fernandina’s Centre Street between Front Street (at the riverfront) and 2nd Street are closed off to vehicular traffic. The performance stage is set up with room in the street for people to gather. The public is welcomed to bring beach chairs to sit comfortably, and/or dance to the music.

The community concert series is presented by the Historic Fernandina Beach Business Association.

Amelia Island Film Festival

The Amelia Island Film Festival is celebrating an accumulation of 16 years in coastal cinematic excellence and island film festival history by bringing together award-winning industry professionals, celebrities, influencers, financiers and emerging filmmakers to collaborate, educate and celebrate cinema. The festival team is also excited to announce new leadership and resources, thanks to a partnership with non-profit organization, Film Amelia.

Featuring expanded programming, The Amelia Island Film Festival now boasts a variety of captivating screenings, empowering panel discussions and unprecedented access to leaders in entertainment.

AIFF's mission is to showcase, inspire, support and celebrate content creators while connecting the business and financial industry to the growing entertainment ecosphere in the Southeastern United States. Our 4-day festival showcases emerging and experienced filmmakers in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Student Short, International Short and Hollywood South. Selected filmmakers will have the opportunity to present projects in development for funding at the signature Pitch Competition.

As the premiere festival event in the Southeastern United States, AIFF is dedicated to supporting the next generation of new voices and perspectives. As filmmakers begin their 2023 festival circuit in paradise, the amalgamation of both a scenic island retreat and world-class industry showcase blends seamlessly to provide an experience unlike any other.

Film Amelia-Nassau, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to year-round education, training and workforce development initiatives as well as cultural celebrations including the annual Amelia Island Film Festival.

Awards & Prizes

The Amelia Island Film Festival presents a Grand Jury Prize + Audience Award in every submission category.

Narrative Feature Finalists will be given a Filmmaker pass and complimentary hotel accommodations for the duration of the festival.

Documentary Feature Finalists will be given a Filmmaker pass and complimentary hotel accommodations for the duration of the festival.

Documentary Short Finalists will be given a Filmmaker pass and complimentary hotel accommodations for the duration of the festival.

Student Short Finalists will be given a complimentary Filmmaker Pass.

International Short Finalists will be given a complimentary Filmmaker Pass.

Hollywood South Short Finalists will be given a complimentary Filmmaker Pass.

Summit Southeast Pitch Competition Finalists will also be given a complimentary pass.

OPENING DINNER

Celebrate the new year and the kick-off of Restaurant Week with a spectacular TAKING ROOT Opening Dinner at the OMNI AMELIA ISLAND RESORT.   

Menu:  Taking Root will take diners on a culinary journey of the cycle of plant growth - from seed to fruit.

Location: SUNRISE CAFÉ

Time:   Thursday, January 19, 2023,  6pm Reception | 6:30pm Dinner

Price:  $129 per person (includes tax and gratuity)

CLOSING DINNER

Amelia Island Restaurant Week closes with a progressive dining experience starting with a light reception at Tidewater Grill, followed by a 5-course plated dinner at Coast at THE RITZ-CARLTON, AMELIA ISLAND. MEET THE FARMERS DINNER at Coast at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island

Menu:  A fun evening reception and dinner with Farmer Lee Jones, Owner of The Chef's Garden and other family purveyors who partner with The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island.

Time:  6pm Reception in TIDEWATER GRILL, followed by dinner in COAST at 6:30pm on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Price:  $125 per person (Inclusive of service charge).
